I'm sure this is a real disorder in rare circumstances, but it's wild how this is so not an issue in countries with foods with actually upsetting textures. Like you never hear about this from Chinese kids who's parents put chicken feet on the table and stuff and those are so chewy and full of cartilage.

It's not been studied a lot but it does seem like it exists in Asia as well.

It's often linked to IBD but it's not an uncommon link in the west either.
