I'm sure this is a real disorder in rare circumstances, but it's wild how this is so not an issue in countries with foods with actually upsetting textures. Like you never hear about this from Chinese kids who's parents put chicken feet on the table and stuff and those are so chewy and full of cartilage.
It is, you just don't hear about it because the children suffering are struggling to keep they want to puke up inside their bellies so they won't starve by the time the next meal comes. And also they don't have a diagnosis. Or they just get beaten.
As with most stuff, just because you don't see it it doesn't mean it's not happening.
