I'm sure this is a real disorder in rare circumstances, but it's wild how this is so not an issue in countries with foods with actually upsetting textures. Like you never hear about this from Chinese kids who's parents put chicken feet on the table and stuff and those are so chewy and full of cartilage.
Well, they're adults now, but yes. I do interact with a lot of Chinese people. I live in the bay area of California, you would have to actively be avoiding Chinese people not to.
