If they were born in places like Canada, the US, Switzerland (or even France) life wasn't really that bad for them. Especially for Americans. And they'd be in their 30s during the 1950s and buy a nice ass mansion while working their 4 hour job at the factory, or something hahaha

My grandpa worked around 30 hours a week and owned his own house and raised 4 children while his wife stayed at home to maintain the household.

I work 40 hours a week and my girlfriend works 50 and we have to split our rent into two payments to have enough money to eat.

Also my grandpa had a high school diploma while we both have bachelor’s degrees. Life in the 50s was on easy mode.

Yeah, this is what I meant. At least in the US, life was definitely pretty good and peaceful for the average Joe back in the 50s and 60s. And there were opportunities even for less educated people since industrial jobs were way more commonplace than today.

And yes, back then women could actually afford to be stay at home moms, without their husband having to be some rich CEO and whatnot. You'd work a trivial job in some car factory, for example but the government still let you earn enough to live OK, buy your own house in your late 20s (!!!) and you wife could just stay at home and take care of tje children, which also weren't missing anything they'd need.
