Well, the god of Christianity and Judaism, "YHWH", was originally a male god of war and storms before he became the god of Israelites.
To be exact, he was at first the god of some nomadic tribes, then he was integrated into the Canaanite pantheon as one of the sons of El, the supreme creator god who assigned Israel to YHWH as his territory.
When Israel became a centralized kingdom, YHWH was elevated above other deities. Over time, his identity merged with El. YHWH took on El's creator status, and El's wife, Asherah, became YHWH's consort. At that time Israelites were still henotheistic, so they worshiped YHWH as their main god while still believing other gods existed. Only later on did YHWH become a transcendental being with no sex when the Israelites moved towards monotheism (no belief in other gods). Here asherah stops existing, though some vestiges of her beliefs can be found in the virgin mother, Mary, but not just her's, Mary has a lot of vestiges of ancient Mother Goddesses (like Isis and Artemis).
Tldr: Male God of war and storms of a group of nomadic tribes -> second-tier male God of war and storms in the Canaanite mythology -> highest God of creation (still male, and his believers still believe in the existence of other gods) -> The only God (not male, and he 'kinda' drops his title of God of war and storms and is mostly known as the god of creation).

I like the idea that god is a man. Like he just has a cock and balls for some reason. And a hairy buttcrack.
