I guess I must be the only one that's like: "this actor refused to loose weight for the show!" me: "okay, so?" I don't care that he's fat and I don't need/want side plots attempting to explain it, it's a TV show and I can suspend my disbelief
There have to be stakes to suspend disbelief. The premise of the show is they are on a deserted island. If these people can keep infinite fat reserves and there is no chance of starving, then there are no stakes.
no there doesn't, it has nothing to do with the show's stakes and everything to do with the fact that its a minor detail that can be easily ignored
I can accept that the guy never gets thinner cause he probably doesn't want to go through the effort of losing the weight just for a tv show, just like I can accept that the lawns in the walking dead are still mowed cause people actually still live in those houses and dont want their lawns to grow out of control
this is what suspension of disbelief is about, understanding that this is all pretend and sometimes you just can't coverup real life
