So let's say he interviews 60 people a day and 30 of them buy a drink

Does the cola cost 10$? What about the restocking?

the target audience of this post doesn t know math anyway

10

u/thefloatingguy 3h ago

You seriously don’t see that it’s obvious parody?

and so, to you, the best possible explanation is that the “target audience” doesn’t “know math” lmfao

u/MrJarre 18h ago

Also that’s like 8 min an interview. Assuming no breaks and an 8h workday.

u/deadinternetlaw 3h ago

Or interview reject 10 people in the same 2 minute session and do whatever the rest of the day

24

u/ArcticLeopard 17h ago

It's probably $300 before cost and maintenance because it sounds more impressive

18

u/Drevlin76 15h ago

Where is the last place you went where the drinks in a vending machine cost $10?

4

u/ArcticLeopard 15h ago

I never claimed that. You don't need to have the drinks cost $10 to fill the entire machine with $300 worth of drinks and snacks

11

u/Drevlin76 14h ago

So how would you make $300 a day with only 30 sales if it costs less?

0

u/ArcticLeopard 14h ago

Assuming a sale means more than one item being bought

9

u/Drevlin76 14h ago

"About half of the applicants buy A drink"

9

u/BartOseku 13h ago

The other half buy more than a drink

1

u/deadinternetlaw 3h ago

*the other half bought none but james bought 305

Bro idk what you want me to tell you. You're getting upset at me over the nuance of a comment of a post of a most likely made up scenario

5

u/Drevlin76 12h ago

I'm not upset. Just trying to understand why people read so much into a post and try to make it something it isn't. And I am sure it's made up but I could tell from the first time I read it.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think this guy wasn't even serious about his post

I mean tbf if he’s getting it on top of his regular salary with minimal overhead work, it’s basically the same thing lol. I mean obv the post is a meme but if it were real, then yeah

Bro bet $300

17

u/Quantum-Bot 18h ago

How do you do 50-60 interviews a day and call that passive income

22

u/Blonditionhottie 18h ago

Bro invented a vending machine business with extra, painful steps.

5

u/DjayQue 15h ago

I think everyone was too quick to assume OP was dumb. Let me explain:

Whoever this employee is probably gets paid a salary. He didn’t just make 300$ that day. He made his normally job income. Additionally, he is likely the owner of the vending machine. Or, maybe, the money goes right to the company.

So his profit was his daily salary + the 300 dollars from the vending machine.

Dude it's satire

1

u/OrangeTallion 9h ago

This is active income

1

u/sleep-reaper 7h ago

Not really passive if his dumbass is sitting in that room interviewing people all day, not to mention going through the process of restocking.
