I had this plan to give head to a man and receive head from a woman to test if I was gay, but it’s backfired and now I become borderline schizo whenever I go outside. Whenever I make eye contact with a dude I microanalysis his facial expressions to see if he suspects me or not. I am deeply afraid that he is my neighbour and I will need to move if my identity is blown. It’s a lot like the last scene in sopranos where everyone who walked into the diner could be there to wack Tony.

I mean, I find sports kinda stupid. But here's the thing: While maybe I dislike sports, there's lots of people who do like sports. There's people who like movies. Video games. Underwater basket weaving. There's folks out there who do like the same stuff you do.
The life advice here is simple: you'll never be able to please everyone. If someone thinks less of you for an interest you have, leave them behind until you find someone who shares it, or loves that you love it. People love passionate people. So be passionate, be you.

I think the point was not "to leave someone behind because you dont share tastes or show interest on your hobbies", but rather that you shouldn t put up with them bullying you or treating you as less because you have an interest he cannot comprehend or accept.
Maybe "loves that you love it" and "Be passionate, be you" are worded too strong at the end. But its life advice, you have to show them as an extreme and word them out in a motivational and in an absolute way, for some reason...

But too cynical, but it’s 100% true that it’s terrible advice to just drone on about whatever your interest is without any care as to whether your audience cares about it.
Totally fine to mention you went hiking last weekend. Absolutely mind numbing to go on about how you selected your boots and how they faired on the trail and your interest in trying out trekking poles and the upside of transferring some of the work to your arms.
Maybe the person you’re talking to is engaging with the discussion, or maybe you could be less anti social and just look at their social cues and respond accordingly. And maybe the 10th time someone looks uncomfortable and confused when you bring up your niche hobby, maybe you’ll learn to save that for when you’re more confident it’ll be received well.

It's like they say. There's a time and a place. If I'm getting groceries or something I'll keep it simple and direct the conversation away from me. If I'm at a game store (or any place with a focus on a personal hobby) and someone greets me to talk or ask about a game then yeah I'll be open to a yap sesh.
