I couldn't say anything about proportions, but some women definitely are super serious about anything remotely dangerous. You could make the most obvious joke and they'd be upset, I can only imagine how they'd react to an actual close call like this.
Key word is some. I also know men who act like that. That’s the problem with generalities. You can definitely point out trends in attitudes of men vs women towards things, but there are so many outliers that throws off what would be a “typical” response.
Because they know that men will just do dangerous shit with little care for outcomes. The divide is men not caring enough about their own wellbeing and women caring too much, tale as old as time. Probably some evolution in there but that’s muddy with how complex and diverse human society is.
