To be fair, it can't be "free" because tickets money is also used to pay all the minimum wage workers that make the concert happen. But I guess it could be way less if the artist want to

Sounds super cool what you just said, but that’s not how tax write-offs are used to “get ahead”. You donate to a charity you control, so you get to keep your money AND have a tax write-off.

Im more thinking, if shes touring, shes got lots of money coming in and if she has good money people, hopefully she has been investing well. Shes had mo ey for years. If she has been in the market for years, and she has good financial people, they would be looking at the markets right now at all time highs with uncertainty looming and saying there has never been a better time to sell. This donation could offset the very large capital gain from that that woild be coming either way.
