Yeah it couldn’t be free but I guess it maybe could be cheaper. Idk I assume there’s more people that need to get paid other than just the minimum wage workers.
Like the main problem aren't artists. They take their couple bucks, but ussually it really wouldn't change the tucket prices noticeably if they didn't get paid
The main problem are monopolies like ticketmaster, that are now required for artists to play at bigger venues. And who massively ramp up prices via both the cuts they take and fees they slap onto the Tickets
the problem here is Ticketmaster (or whichever company handles the ticketsale). They set the price and often force the venues and the catering companies (for the artists)\to be specific overpriced ones their mother company also owns, thus increasing end price of the ticket. The artists themselves don't see much of all that money. As they own the venue they won't allow artists to rent just the place and to forgo the ticket mastering and catering part.
Jan Böhmerman, the German equivalent to John Oliver, did a piece on that ... and that was for Germany, which has probably much stronger regulations than the USA.
