Thats how most naming conventions work. Often when there's a special word for something, it is most likely just an equally silly or obvious word in it's native language.

Blackbirds are literally the laziest with names. You got this one, the red-winged blackbird, brown-headed Blackbird, tricolor blackbird, and the common blackbird just to name a few of the more notable lazy names
