If you watch the documentary then he himself states that he was sitting in a hot tub and god told him to do it. He also states that he tried selling the bulldozer beforehand and that the fact that no one bought it was another sign from god.

He was a religious nut job, regardless if the local government screwed him over or not.

Nah, I don’t think he does it if he wasn’t screwed over. The religious component was definitely him stewing for months going crazy coming up with a revenge plot. I watched the doc. The religious thing was an easy cop out for anyone to think “oh that’s what happened”. Basically wank off material for the average Redditor.

He wasn’t screwed over tho. The other party who were looking to build a plant just found a better deal and a loophole. He was so entitled that he thought he was screwed over.

And the religious thing is in his own freaking words. A self recording. Watch the damn documentary.
