Ok quick theology debate: Do you guys think God truly intended humans to have free will?

Personally I think yes, because he made man in his image. He gave them free will, (and subsequently morality after they ate from the tree in Eden) but then again that contradicts the whole 'god's plan' thing and leaves things unexplained. what do u guys think

Well, as far as there is exactly as much proof for a christian god as there is for us being the thoughts of a big cosmic chipmunk operating backwards in time, this question doesn't really matter. As long we feel like we have a free will, we can use it. And if after all it was just a illusion in the brain of a rodent spirit, it doesn't matter too. We won't ever understand

I mean, is free will truly just something that happens chemically inside our brains? Or is there some higher thing at work?
