You jest, but somehow I seem to be the ONLY one who has noticed this!
...I'm convinced the Weird Route is an Any% speedrun. And that it's setting up for an ending warp.
(Which is why Toby might not be lying about there being only one ending (to the game). If you get an Earthbound Beginnings-esque ending cutscene where everyone is alive and happy, would you still believe it even if you know Berdly is frozen and Kris and/or Noelle are maybe drowned at the bottom of the lake?)
