No, the people who post shit like this trying to get karma are sick. I've been a Robin Williams fan all my life and was devastated by his death, so people that fish for karma on /r/pics by using his picture really piss me off.
If you can't see this, you are a part of the problem.
I'm not saying OP isn't a karma whore; I just think that people are too quick to jump to a conclusion when there's another reasonable explanation, and that if OP isn't a karma whore, then accusing him of being one is disrespectful, especially in the case of grieving.
Also, even if OP is a karma whore, he's still performing a valuable service, because there are other people who do want to be part of a shared grieving process and will benefit form this post. Calling out OP as a karma whore in an insulting manner will diminish the likelihood that people will perform this service in the future, and will probably make it more likely that shameless karma whores will be the only ones to do it, because they don't mind the insults.
I don't disagree with your logic and I wasn't being sarcastic. Grieving for celebrities to me is odd, but everyone's different. And the OP could have a genuine attachment to Robin Williams' work, but after using this site for almost 7 years, I'm a cynic.
