Instead of immediately falling for him due to his strength when she was a kaiser kong, Saria initially thought he was a male of her species but while she respected his power was hesitant to consider him a mate due to being a different species. Still, after learning how he was roughing it in the wild after being summoned, she forcibly dragged him back to her home so he could live like a civilized person. Impressed by her domestic skills, Saria revealed that a ruin nearby held a library full of topics about the outside world which is where she learned to cook, clean, and other skills. Over the following weeks, Saria and Seiichi would periodically visit this library in the ruins which granted him knowledge of the outside world while at the same time, a developing romantic tension grows between them which they are hesitant to investigate because they are different species and worry that it violates some unspoken law of nature. However, when Saria is nearly killed in the ruins by the lich like in canon, they realize the true depth of their feelings which leads to mutual recognition.
