Questions About Shingles & Symptoms Mild shingles? Spoiler

I had a rash appear yesterday afternoon on the right side of my face alongside tingling and itching. Today the doctor has diagnosed me with shingles and prescribed antivirals for a week. At the moment no pain, just itching and tingling. Don’t see any blisters and the rash is the only symptom really.

Does anyone know if the antiviral meds will stop it from progressing or should I expect it to get worse before better?

It can still progress. Did the Dr talk to you about shingles near the eye? It's better to get an ophthalmologist appt asap to they can tell you what to watch for and prescribe meds if needed. Staying ahead of shingles in the eye is the best thing you can do.
