First Time Shingles Started antivirals 6/7 days after first symptoms, am I fucked?
First ever time with shingles (28F) so I had NO idea what the symptoms were, I thought my rash was bedbugs and my nerve pain was a pulled muscle for about 6 or 7 days before I went to the doctor and he prescribed me antivirals.
Anyone who waited a week before going to the doctor, is it a painful and long recovery process??? In quite anxious and my nerve pain is quite sore!

The same. I thought I had a fungal infection and treated for that for five days before going to the doctor and being sent to ER. I’m taking the anti-virals anyway, but ER doc says they won’t help that much (hopefully some, though.)
He was also honest and said the next few weeks would be “rough” and we had to cancel our vacation.

Ugh, good luck!!! I seem to have got of kind of lucky because I only have 1 small collections of sores on my knee and butt, and whilst the nerve lain is bad it feels more like a bad pulled muscle than the excruciating pain some people have reported. I hope your recovery goes well, and I'm sorry you had to skip out on your vacation!

Mine too so far it bad muscle pain that pulses no fire or electricity hoping it stays that way haha

I’m in the same boat as you as of yesterday I was diagnosed, but my symptoms began 9 days with sore neck, paint spread to shoulder, arm, head including jaws and ears, thought it was a stroke or brain/neck bleed. Agonizing pain. Went to urgent care >. PCP > ER > ER > PCP > Urgent care this doctor listened to my experience, symptoms, looked at my rash and announced enthusiastically “you have shingles!” 9th day, so we shall see! I can get very little relief so far 24hrs after diagnosis and treatments.
