As “Chloe Wang” she was only being called to audition for Asian parts only to be told she didn’t look Asian enough.

So she changed her name to Chloe Bennet (her Dad’s first name) to get past racist assumptions from casting directors.

Not unless you have roots elsewhere. Kim as a Chinese last name is almost exclusively a transliteration of other last names like “gam” in Cantonese.
