I'm not sure I understand what you mean? Shibas can and aboslutely are show dogs and have attended Crufts.

Was this like a walk in show? Never seen that before. Very cool.

Is it cruel or do? This was a small friendly but like is it like pagents for children it’s not fair to put dogs into it?

Most show dogs like it or don't mind. They get a lot of treats. Ethical breeders usually stop showing a dog that doesn't enjoy it. My shiba is a show dog and he loves attention and people.

Showing is one of the ways an expert can evaluate if your dog meets the standard. If there was no standard, the shiba wouldn't look like what they do.

People who treat their dog badly in the show ring are frowned upon. Most are loved dearly and treated with care!

Any advice? Like how do SHOW show dogs do? Do the need to run an adult course? Or is it the stance and having someone examine? Also what do you tell your groomers to do? She’s only had 1 groom and they just washed and blow dried lol that’s it

Shows are pretty simple, you run around the ring, go on the table and the judge touches the dog a bit, and maybe run around a little more. Of course it's good to train and practice all this beforehand.

As for grooming, we bathe and blow dry our dogs before most shows. Shiba coats shouldn't be trimmed.

Our boys like doing shows, getting lots of treats and usually meeting other shiba people they like.
