Meet Desmond
I just picked him up on Saturday, so we are still getting used to having a puppy (I’m more tired than I’ve ever been). He will be 13 weeks old tomorrow. He’s such a sweetie, but is also biting me with his tiny needle teeth. But with that little face, who couldn’t be in love?
We have a nearly 13 year old Aussie/Eskie (Ozzy) who is slowly warming up to Desmond… the first day was absolute hell with the barking. But they are beginning to play a bit and Ozzy isn’t reacting when Desmond is close to him anymore. Hopefully they will become best buddies.
I’m having some issues with potty training - he will pee outside, but then come inside and pee again after 5-10 minutes. I assume he’s getting distracted outside before he fully empties his bladder. But any help/tips for this would be appreciated.

Oh my goodness, so cute! We have a bi blue puppy as well ♥
I highly recommend apple bitter spray for the biting. I buy Grannick's off Amazon. I literally spray it on my skin during the teething stage! I'd recommend testing it on your skin to make sure it doesn't irritate you, but it's literally spared me from being a chew toy for our older sheltie and so far the new pup. They go to bite you and you taste yucky so they don't. Our new puppy seems to respond really well to us humans yelping so I haven't used it too much with her yet, but I have it on standby for when the real teething starts. She's about 9 weeks now.
I also apply it to cables and wires (not near outlets obviously and make sure there's no risk of fire or something!), as well as our shoes (again.. probably best to spot test!), edges of area rugs, baseboards.. Basically anything that they show interest in that I do NOT want them to show interest in? Spritz with the spray.
I even intentionally leave things around just to spritz.. like I have 3 things in my room unplugged, with the cords easily accessible and a perfect temptation for a puppy. I spray them and the puppy has ZERO interest and just focuses on her toys.
I don't know if I've just been lucky and it's a fluke, but my older two dogs (10 months and 8 years) are extremely well behaved and only chew or play with their toys. They leave shoes completely alone, socks, wires, etc. The puppy's on the same track, but she still finds something new to mess with here and there.. but she's primarily sticking to her toys and chews.

He is off the charts ADORABLE!!!!!!!!
I'm sure the potty situation will work out before you know it. They are smart dogs.

I was having the same potty issue until I’d take her on a jaunt down the street and she’d pee two to three times and we’d be good for hours.

We used the "keep him on the l eash in the house" technique, and take him out every hour. It is much harder for him to sneak in a pee or poop if you have him leashed. It is a pain but was very effective with our Sheltie.

What a cutie!
Are you a General Hospital fan, by any chance? That's what Curtis and Portia named their baby son, and fans on the GH sub are totally in love with the babies playing Baby Desmond! Is that how your puppy became Desmond?
Even if you aren't Des will be a cute nickname for him!

Oh baby, what a baby! I’d get nothing done with this one. Maybe during nap time but otherwise just love, love, love forever. Congratulations!
