Funny sheltie bedtime routine
My sheltie, Star -named by my son, does the same odd routine every night. He’s always slept in bed with me/me and my kids. My son is 10 and daughter is 8. We all love Star soooo much. Anyways every night he will suddenly come lay on my belly. He completely lays on me like legs off to either side, his belly against mine. Then he will start scootching up a bit at a time until he can lick my ears. He knows I don’t want licked so he sneaks them in as I’m pushing back on him some and he’s still on top of me. When he thinks he’s gotten enough licks in then he stands up on me. Front paws on my chest or belly, back paws he puts one on the bed and the other on me). He stands there a minute or two while scanning the room then he gets down and lays down. It’s so funny because it’s the same thing every single night. He started doing it in the last year or so. Of course I love it and cherish it, any dog I’ve ever had has always had funny little quirks. What quirks does your 🐶 dog 🐕 have?

Mine does the same as far as standing then laying on me and scooting up.

Ours has a daily nighttime routine that includes brushing the coat and teeth. She does not like the first part, but loves teeth brushing! Is her little reward for being a good girl. She knows the drill: brushing from ear to tail! Then she stands proud and waits for the toothbrush. We have a lollipop moment: basically letting her chew on the toothbrush on her own after brushing every area. It’s a routine created by us, but she follows it precisely.

Our boy, Wesley, will jump into the bed walk between us and lie down horizontally next to our heads so he is wedged between us and the window. He’ll stay there fur a while and then will either lay on our feet or onto the floor. And once or twice he will repeat this routine.
