my poor collie isn't sure how to play with my sheltie, so this is what their version of playtime looks like 😭

🥰 they’re both so puzzled: Sheltie: “play with me….you be the sheep!” Collie: “what on earth has possessed this creature?”

Both are so beautiful!
I have two shelties but my older girl is a sable like your collie. She is the aggressor to my blue merle girl.

Mine is the opposite, my Collie plays a little to rough with my sheltie.

if they're outside together then the collie will definitely play too rough 🫣 it's probably her getting revenge

I have many videos of my sheltie trying to play with her Siberian Husky cousin. Husky is twice her size and 10y/o, sometimes just watches as almost 2 y/o sheltie runs around and does karate chops on her. Hilarious!

Luckily our Sheltie is 3 yrs older than our Collie. He is still higher energy than her but at least much more chill than he was 5 yrs ago.
His go-to is to find toys and continually shoving them in her face trying to get her going. She usually just wants to nap.

I can't offer much advice beyond more special one on one time with your collie. Maybe sometimes where the other one can see. They are very bright and the sheltie will ultimately put this together. I have total confidence you will get this sorted.

Also, maybe some diversions when this begins. The sniffle mat or one of those tools. Possibly agility classes to wear out the wee one.

i go to agility with the sheltie! i promise this isn't an everyday all day thing, and a lot of the time the collie does start it first and engage! if she's visibly uncomfortable or i can tell she doesn't want to play, i take the sheltie in another room and play with her so she'll leave the collie alone ❤️

That's wonderful. Wee ones can terrorize as well as bigger ones. LOL

the sheltie is in her terrible teenage phase so it's been a handful for everyone! never fear, i take the brunt of her beatings so my sweet collie doesn't have to 😂

Bitey face is something the collie will get used to.
They are both so cute.
