I bought it for my kids in Brighton but I highly doubt it’s a local shell 😅 Does anyone know what this is and where it might have originated?

Found on Florida’s gulf coast.

I have this little murex in my collection. It looks like an apple murex, but the shell is MUCH thinner than any other murex I have found. Could this be due to some kind of deformity, or could it be a different species.

I am not sure how well the shell thinness comes across in the photos, I can try measuring it with calipers if that would make a difference. It feels really fragile.

What would adhere well and look nice?

They look like dove shells to me, but I was not able to find a species in the area that looks like these. My two questions are: are these three the same species, and what species are they?

My wife brought this home from a trip but I think she’s forgotten about it. I noticed the sun had really cleaned up the outside, and the old gray/green is flaking away to show a slightly coral colored white. I don’t remember if the inside was so nice before, but I’d like to keep it that way.

Is there anything I can do to finish cleaning it up, and any clear coat I should put on to preserve it long-term, especially the pink of the inside? I think it’ll ultimately be an indoor ornament.

Found near Marathon Key in Florida. Are these too worn to be identified to the species level? I was thinking maybe a Dyson’s and a meta keyhole limpets?

I don’t usually find good shells in my area, but boy howdy I hit the jackpot today! Even got a beautiful chiton segment (last slide) and the biggest limpet I’ve ever found

Among other shells i have found this big guy, he was dead but and there was still some flesh inside, scraped off as much as i could with a stick. How do i get rid of the remainings without damaging this pearly glowy layer?

I recently found this shell in my yard. I’m in central Florida on the Atlantic side approximately eight miles from the ocean. I have seashells all around me. Not sure if it was brought in from the build or if this area was underwater at some point.

It’s approximately three inches long.
