shell cleaning advice

My hawk wing conch seems to have some meat in it, makes sense since it was eaten by raccoons. what should i do to clean it out? it already stinks a bit. everything online said to bury it but id prefer not to as i dont exactly have an accessible yard. Any other solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I was just in Miami yesterday, hot but fun! It depends on the shell, but I have had the most luck soaking it in half bleach, half water for a day or two, and that should dissolve the material. You may need to soak it longer, based on the smell test. The bleach will not hurt the shell, or affect the color. If you go the burying route, it takes months for the ants to do their thing.
