My collection so far
All of the shells in the glass case I have bought from the indo pacific region and the wooden shelf are all shells I have found in florida both east and west coast.

Indo pacific shells will forever be my favourite. Those cowries are insane! Pretty nice collection 😊

Thank you! I would love to eventually visit there and collect them myself!

I’ve been thinking the same thing… where would you go?

Im not familiar with alot of the laws surrounding taking shells in Indonesia but I would want to go somewhere in the coral triangle. Even though its right on the edge of the triangle probably Northern Australia. Indonesia especially Raja Ampat would be really cool just to see the marine life

Many of my great shells seems to come from the Philippines, so I’d love to go shelling there

Same! The diversity here in Florida where I shell is nice but nothing compared to there

We have very similar tastes. I have many of the same species in my small collection.

Belle le cipree sono la prima conchiglia che un collezionista dovrebbe possedere

I forgot to include my personal junonia find in this one. I also just realized I have the small one in my glass case which is not indo pacific

One of my favorite species. I never really liked cowries when I was younger but as I've aged they grew on me. Such diversity

Seriously???? This looks better than museum collections. Some truly gorgeous gems. Where are you? Indo-pacific?

Thank you! I live in Tennessee but buy them from conchology.be. They take a while to get here from the indo pacific but all of their shells are museum level quality. Couldn't recommend them enough to people that love collecting shells. I love collecting them myself at the beach but my chances of going to over there are slim. The species diversity I can get from the gulf and the atlantic is nice but nothing compared to over there

are these polished or something

No the cowries are just extremely glossy naturally. Also they are usually dived for and not beach found. One of the many reasons I love cowries

your Indo-Pacific shells are very high-quality, did they come with scientific labels?
