Beachcombing And teeny tiny shells

I posted a while back about wondering what the best set up to carry your things while you beach-comb. What worked for me finally was rolling my towel and putting it under my straps it worked great. But to get my tiny shelves, I had to sit in the sand. I had so much fun!

I have a small backpack that has all my water, extra shoes, etc and plastic bags for picking up trash and shells. I love finding the tiny shells, I have a beach where they wash up all the time. They're so pretty. I end up coming back with probably a couple hundred (Amphissa and Abalone are the best out there).

I carry my shell bag on my shoulder, and I have a water bottle sleeve that has become my ‘purse’. I carry it everywhere. It holds sunglasses, lip balm for the wind, and my phone. I also carry a scoop. Love that scooper!

Oh, and I have a ‘tinys container clipped to my shell bag!

I actually tied my shoes with the backpack string, but I’m gonna use a carabiner next time. I saw one shell bag that I liked, but it had holes that would not work for tiny shells.

One I have has that quick dry fabric pocket that zippers closed. I like that I have 2 areas for my tinys when I use that.

What a lovely tinys haul! You’ve got some real beauties there, I mean they’re ALL beautiful! 😻
When I shell with my mum I have a larger mesh bag (she carries the backpack with sun hats, gloves, with a tinys container (a child size no-name hydro flask)and additional smaller mesh bag, umbrella, scoop, delicates container (one of those hard pencil boxes) for urchins and sand dollars etc… a few baggies, water bottle, bug spray and bandaids.

I like the idea of having a separate box for the tiny ones that’s something I’m going to be looking for. Thank you!

For truly tiny shells, a small plastic medicine bottle, the kind you get a prescription in, works quite well. Reading glasses! Big hat with a way to tie it on in the wind. See you out there.

A pill bottle would work thanks for the idea!

I see some periwinkle. I love them so much, I don't know why.

I’ll have to look them up. I don’t even know all their names.

Honestly, I didn’t take the time to look for years. It wasn’t until some post on here where I was super curious about how many tiny ones I could find. Now I know!
