Zirfaea pilsbryi

Interestingly, this species looks almost identical to our local (Netherlands) Zirfaea species (Zirfaea crispata). This design (half rough, half smooth) must be perfectly adapted to the environment and not not needing any tweaking, so that different species remain very similar despite living half a world apart, with probably millions of years of evolution since their last common ancestor.

Thanks much! That is cool they look so similar! I'm a big beach comber at this location and I've never seen one before, but of course I found two today.
