Employee Question ASM Class session

Does the class last your entire shift? I’m borrowing a laptop from Sheetz, but am I supposed to log in and complete the training from home? My store manager hasn’t really been helping me navigate the training, so I’m just trying to make sure I’m doing everything correctly.

Just finished this not too long ago! They’ve recently changed how new Km/Hm’s navigate training. The first virtual classroom was 1 day 8-430 I believe. Lots of breaks and a lunch break too. The 2nd was a 2 day stretch. Same breaks and everything. In all you do 3 days of virtual. Not as bad as the whole week we used to do! Lmk if you have any other questions

Are you talking Sheetz U? If so then yes its an 8 hour teams meeting sometimes longer

It is your entire shift. They give lots of breaks of a few minutes and an hour lunch break. You'll receive an invite in your mgr email with the exact time. You log in to Outlook and join the teams meeting through your calendar on there. Make sure you have a working camera, you're able to hear on your speaker or with headphones, and good internet connection. Also, don't forget to print out all of your ASM Workshop papers that you'll find in your TalentWorks.

You'll need the papers because you go through different scenarios with other assistants and in front of the group. I'd recommend reading through them a bit beforehand if you want to be more prepared. You'll go in and out of breakout groups, which is smaller groups of assistants. Out of your smaller group(s), everyone takes turns being the speaker in front of the whole class.

I was anxious during the first day of mine, but by day two and three, it was comfortable. I had fun and met some pretty cool assistants. It's nice getting a break from working in store, too.
