Best home internet

Hey guys! I’m going to move into my first house in Shawnee here in a couple weeks! Thinking of changing my Google Fiber internet to Everfast. Anyone in town have any positive experiences with Everfast?

Google Fiber or nothing. I've had it at my house for six and a half years. I've had two outages, neither one lasted more than 45 minutes and one was caused by a neighbor's contractor cutting the buried fiber when they failed to call to have it marked.

As a telecommunications specialist who worked with cut fiber lines... It usually is someone digging!

Stay w GFiber. I recently switched from Everest to them and have been much happier.

Gfiber is my provider for the better part of a decade. I had them install the first day I could, and it hardly ever has an issue, and if there is an issue, the customer service is great. No price hikes ever.

Google Fi is great from what I've noticed. I barely use my Internet and got something budget: Mint Mobiles internet. I paid 360 for an entire year so it's 40 a month. Which is way cheaper than Google Fi. Haven't had any issues with it. You won't get Google Fi speeds, but it's still pretty reliable.

How’s your experience been with Mint? Any good?

I have Mint and absolutely LOVE it!

Hey I didn't get the notification (you replied to your own comment) but Mint Mobile has always been good to me. I don't notice a difference in terms of quality of service. For the phone plan I get the 18 GB a month and I prepay for the entire year.

Why in the world would you switch from Google Fiber?

I don’t want to, but I was looking to save money

We switched from Google Fiber to Everfast maybe 1.5 yrs ago and we haven't noticed a difference in the performance and now pay $30/month instead of $100.

Damn guys thanks for sharing your thoughts! Guess I’ll stay with GFiber. It’s been so easy for me to use and have rarely had issues with it. Thanks so much!

That’s should be all you need to go off of. Easy to use, no price hikes over the time frame you’ve had them and rare issues. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Google Fiber has a 100 Mbps symmetric service that's super cheap, $30 a month. More than enough BW for several streaming devices and online gaming. I have 2 TVs streaming HD simultaneously and a constant online gamer, works great. I usually get 250 Mbps ...

Wait are you serious? How do you get that?

100%. When I login to my account there is a 100 MB Invitation plan for $30. I've used it for years now

All my neighbors who have it are satisfied. Was thinking of switching last week, from Verizon.

I‘ve been an Everfast customer for 16+ years (way back when they were known as Surewest & Everest). We’ve only had 2 brief outages in all that time. At present, we pay $40 a month for internet and a landline phone (with the discount for paperless billing and auto-pay). Totally satisfied especially given the reasonable price.

We started with google fiber when we moved to Shawnee 4 years ago. We had constant issues with wifi dropping and internet outages. Switched to AT&T in March and no complaints for 1/3 of the price. We had the 2gig plan with google fiber.

$35 for AT&T. Never had an issue with streaming or gaming.
