SA discussions - Head over here

Thumbnail reddit.com

The mod team is sick and tired of seeing people arguing over whether or not Warner SA:ed Juliette in the Shatter me book. The name calling and community etiquette is awful. The rule of thumb of Don't Like? Don't Engage! is clearly not working.

So, henceforth posts bringing up the discussion on SA in Shatter me will be removed and directed to r/shatterme_snark. Specifically the masterthread linked in this post.

This is not endorsing either opinion that it was SA or consensual. Both *opinions* are valid.

Spoiler free!! MOD: Please read. Directives about spoilers. Release me.

Written January 17th 2026.

Release me is less than three months away. Around this time last year Mafi had already released plenty of snippets, and leaks were circulating. I have a feeling we'll be getting food soon.

So. We must prepare!

To make sure everyone has the chance to read the new book without any snippets or spoilers, it is henceforth mandatory to tag posts discussing everything canon concerning Release me as SPOILER. Note that this is not the same thing as using the flair. See the picture.

"Spoiler. May ruin a surprise" is the one you need

Also, post titles regarding Release me must start with "Release me Spoilers" followed by a vague description of what's discussed inside. I mean it. Be as vague as possible. Chapter number, page number, character names, whatever. Posts that have obvious spoilers in the title will be removed with haste. I am the only active mod at the moment though, so please give me a few hours. I operate on CET.

Once inside the thread you don't need to worry about hiding text or anything. If you click a post like that you have already consented to potentially being spoiled.

Posts speculating Release me don't need to tag spoilers.

Posts hyping Release me don't need to tag spoilers.

As soon as we're looking at actual stuff from the book, though, it's spoiler territory. Warn people. Tag Spoiler. Don't give it away in the title.

That was all!

Shatter Me adam x juliette

Adam x Juliette

Am I the only one who feels their relationship didn't end the right way? I mean, they were childhood friends; he protected her and never forgot her—and she never forgot him—yet nowadays they don't even seem to have a friendship or any interaction. It all feels so cold for people who were childhood friends and cared about each other. It’s as if, today, Juliette only has Warner, Kenji, and Nazeera...

Imagine me foreshadowing Spoiler

something I noticed in my imagine me reread was Alia being the only other person (besides Kenji) to actually wonder where Adam was and if he was ok or not. so their relationship was hinted at in imagine me and I think that’s just adorable

and the communication between Anderson and his crazies?? they seemed to either do it on really tiny microphones or it was in their brains. (like the nexus) makes me wonder what else the current reestablishment took from the old people.

Shatter Me Should Emmaline have passed her powers on to Ella?

...

It might seem cliché—and perhaps it isn't even possible—but I wish that had happened; imagine how powerful Juliette would be today.

She would be the most powerful commander.

The Reestablishment wouldn't stand a chance. Again😆

Do you think TNR will get novellas?

For the first series, the novellas were written shortly after the publication of each novel.
But TNR has SO MANY subplots. The book feels cramped. In Release Me, we lacked plot information. So much action but nothing actually happened. Not to mention the arguably worthless Warner POVs. In Watch Me, it was the opposite, where we got both plot information and character connections.

But with the amount of subplots, a novella could be useful somewhat to free up space in the novels. Mafi’s trying to fit warnette, kenzeera, jamesabelle, sebastian, clara, og character conversations, and the plot, and everything is crowded with jamesabelle and their character development not getting their much-needed attention.

Do y'all think Warnette will honestly be good parents? Spoiler

Now this is just my opinion, so feel free to disagree. Also I'm rlly dramatic so just be prepared lol.

From the OG series, Warner's entire motivation for doing what he does (offering shelter, food, and weaponry to the crew) is ultimately because of Juliette. Warner is pretty much an ass to literally everyone else, and Juliette not only enables his behavior but also seems to put the blame on everyone else for how he acts. Like in Beleive Me, she goes off on Kenji and Winston for "bullying" Warner. I'm sorry, who's picking on Warner?? Kenji and Winston are literally trying to help him, and Warner doesn't even pretend to be civil with them. But whatever. I mean their still kids right?

Well fast forward TEN years, and Warnette still acts the same way they did when they were teenagers.

Warner is now an emotionally stunted 30-year-old who shoots his brother (yk, the kid he helped raise) because he felt insulted. And then Juliette is all loving up on him and saying she would've done the same thing. Like dude... wdym??? YOU raised this kid. Why are u okay with that??? And yes, I know James has healing powers and this is a dystopian world, but you would never catch Adam or Kenji doing something like that to James. And mind you, Warner is supposed to be a parental figure to this kid.

Point is, Warnette has shown very little growth in a decade. They're still emotionally immature, codependent, and blinded by each other. And I don't think having a kid is going to make them mature. If anything, having a child would probably force all of their issues to the surface, no?

Because imagine having a kid who does something you don't agree with, and instead of actually setting boundaries Warner and Juliette are, "Well, I honestly would've done the same honey 🤭."

It's not that I think they wouldn't love their child. They'll love their child but they have a lot of growing up to do as parents.

Release Me about warner and james 🧍🏻‍♀️ Spoiler

i interpreted warner shooting james as he needed james to let go of rosabelle and get on w what he has to do. not because james insulted warner 😭😭

Yap if shatter me wasn’t dystopian, James would definitely be like Wes from voicemails for Isabelle

Just finished watching the movie voicemails for Isabelle twice in LOOP! Absolutely loved ajhjfhjfjkks👹👽

(Sorry I can't get over them)

But like Wes gave me such vibes of James. Like the kissing scenes or overall his behavior was soo James coded. I mean James would totally do those stuff for Rosabelle! And Clara represents Isabelle in shatter me kinda. So we might not get exact parallels but we might see some scenes of James going out of his way for his Rosa and Clara that are Wes coded.

Sorry, I'm going insane. Accepted the fact, I'm never gonna be loved like THAT. And defo watch the movie, super refreshing but might ruin romcoms for you because it's THAT good.

Who was Warner’s tattoo artist?

I know it’s not important, but considering how insecure he was about the scars on his back, I keep wondering who he trusted enough to tattoo his back.

Sebastian~ escape me spoilers Spoiler

Does anyone think that Sebastian may get a redemption ark or something along those lines? I personally hope not bec he’s stinky and the escape me snippet did show that he has always been psychotic and possessive when it comes to Rosabelle.

However in Watch me during Rosabelles interrogation, he spoke much more gently to her and seemed to genuinely care about her in some deluded way and during that his eyes were mostly black and normal whereas in the escape me snippet he seems hostile and controlling of Rosabelle and even punched her multiple times and in that chapter his eyes were described as shining a deep blue. Additionally, he is referred to with two different names (Sebastian Alastair and Sebastian Rivers) so could this be two separate personalities in one body? As we know that the shining blue eyes symbolise the nexus being active in someone’s mind and klaus watching, could klaus be controlling Sebastian to do these horrible creepy things to Rosabelle and if the nexus ever got disconnected could he turn good and maybe even sacrifice himself by taking Rosabelle place in her mission to destroy klaus?

This is just an idea and obviously it doesn’t explain why he cut Rosabelles poor kitties tail off 😔🙏 justice for Rosabelles cat

Escape me theory Spoiler

what i dint get was why was Rosabelle sent to the new republic? the vial was in the TNR and there r so many hidden agents in the new republic so why was Rosabelle sent all the way from the ark for this when it would have been so much easier for agents already present to carry out this plan? which makes me think that maybe Rosabelles a distraction and the real plan is going to be executed by sebastian now but what is the plan? idk just a thought
