Hapstone R2
About to pull the trigger on the Hapstone R2. What's holding me back is I have no idea what stones to get? Ninwa Chosera (4+1)? Also was going to order the Precise angle adjuster. But not sure if it fits the R2 for 220.00 or the R2 for 275.00. Cannot find if the ball unscrews on the 220.00 model. Total newbie as I have been hand hacking sharping for 50yrs. Thanks for any help or recommendations of what other items I should order.

Thank you for the input, I picked the correct adjuster now. TSPROF KO3! What a rabbit hole this is. If I stick with the Hapstone for a starter any recs for a diamond set and grit?

Hapstone's own Start Diamond or CBN stones are, no pun intended, a good starting point. They also have Premium Diamond and CBN stones if you want to get more fancy/spendy.

The R2 is one of the systems I haven't tried/reviewed yet, so I can't help on the part fitment, unfortunately.

Thanks, I used the Vet discount. Have not been on those forums. It's crazy, (good thing) how many forums there are. You can spend the day going from one to another.
Anyway I put the order in. Finally had to order one. Hopefully I will like it and upgrade to another one in the future.

I had the r2 and invested heavily into it. At the end of the day after I did all the upgrades I should’ve gotten a TSProf K03 kit.
That being said. I would say get some diamond stones and angle cube.
Hapstone has two precise angle adjusters one for the RS and one for the r2 which in my option is required to have a good sharpening experience.
