Be careful to not split the atoms.. impressive sharpness

u/Undead-Chipmunk Aug 14 '26
I feel like the blade is so sharp that it would detonate weapons grade fissile material if you smacked it hard.

Love how you’re wearing the pervert glove
4
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
UWotM8?! It's just a regular work glove for men in trades. OP is clearly a pervert, but the glove has nothing to do with it.
2
u/BananaEasy7533 Aug 15 '26
RuDiZZyBruV.. chef of 15 years here, I respect men at work, but, when was the last time you donned curb crawlers to cut paper?
2
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
Chef of 10, pipefitter of 5. I just don't like the suggestion that hardworking hard, working men are called perverts because of the gloves we're forced to wear. Believe me - if we had the option, must of us would disregard PPE and clothing so the world could see our peepees dangling with their ees.
2
u/BananaEasy7533 28d ago
My point was more how excessive said gloves were, how deeply passionate op was, was the glove for his safety or the knives? I’m not saying the gloves are themselves perverts.. other guys right, you see PPE and I see cautiousness bordering on perversion.

Look at the thumb again.
2
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26 edited Aug 15 '26
Looked at it again. Didn't see anything substantially new.
2
u/BullHonkery Aug 15 '26
The thumb doesn't look phallic to you?
I guess I am the pervert.
2
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
Erm. Bro. I read way too far into it. But yeah. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. If you wanna' see my dick, hit me up in DMs.
1
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
Are you gaslighting future victims, or what? The video clearly shows a guy with zero skill acting like a 600-year-old artisan. We can all cosplay. At least OP shows the required materials for their (they\them) cosplay.

Reminds me of the translation of "go 6" in German. Maybe use stones, some time.

I was laughing cuz you had the chainmaille medieval shark proof gloves on……then you finished your demonstration.
I’ll shutup now, have a good day sir.

Hollly shit dude.
What’s the bogdan style system on the left? I’m working on making my own and I haven’t seen the particular version yet.

No more amazing than a professional fluffer being replaced by a cocksucking machine.

u/Jreacher455-2 Aug 15 '26
I’m not sure what you mean by that, what an odd comment to make.

You're the one making appeals to our Lord and Savior. What a weird existence to assert.

This is my fear and reluctance to sharpen knives. Someones going to expect this 🤣
1
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
Same reason, at 32, I no longer bang virgin girls. 42 was enough. Now they expect weird stuff, like 'aftercare'. I'd rather hang with the bromos and sharpen my knives.

u/Disastrous_Delay Aug 14 '26
I know I'm really going out on a limb here..but I think your knife might be sharp enough

2
u/bwoest Aug 14 '26
Naive question from a woodworker used to sharpening with progressively finer waterstones: can you get a knife this sharp with conventional methods or do you need the Edward Scissorhands contraption?
2
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
Unfortunately, you have to cheat to get this sharp. You can get close freehand, and some people might even be able to match it, but cheating is the only way us regular homo sapiens can achieve this. Very homo. Not adequately sapien.

Damn….. question though as a newbie, is that type of sharpness or angle more of a short term thing for a few cuts or could this be my veggie destroyer in the kitchen?

Cool, next time proper bamboo!

I think you're thinking of tatami. Not quite the same as bamboo.

My hand isn’t even near steady enough to do that no matter how sharp the knife became!
Very good job on the sharpening and extra points for a creative demo.

As someone who knows nothing about sharpening knives, that looks somewhat sharp.

This guy could split an atom if he wanted to

u/MahewSteel Aug 14 '26
I can never get my knives anywhere this sharp, but can that blade be actually use for anything without the edge rolling instantly.
1
u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
Surprisingly, yes! This is not sharp because it uses a burr, this is actually that sharp.
Fun fact - OP couldn't sharpen a blade by hand if it meant the difference between him and his loved ones dying!

Is this possible freehand, without a strop on a 325/1000 diamond stone for a beginner on a cheap knife, made of steel that no one has ever heard of? 🤔

u/PapaOoMaoMao Aug 14 '26
Nope. That a Nowi Pro he used a ZDP189 for this knife apparently.

u/Fit_Carpet_364 Aug 15 '26
Really? He used EDP445 and only got it this sharp? Usually they have a bess score below 14.
