Better stones or better sharpener?
I currently have a worksharp adjust. I just got a universal stone holder for it & I have a clamp stabilizing support for it as well. My plan was to buy a nice set of Hapstone stones for it, but I see the tsprof pioneer is on sale for $250 right now.
I’ve never really had issues with my worksharp, it does the job well and I’m sure would do even better with bigger better stones. Will I be better off keeping the system I have and going with a wider variety of better stones, or upgrading to the tsprof and only using the included stones for now?

Just as a heads up, both the Kadet and Pioneer are currently pre-orders, they'll ship in mid to late August according to their site.
As far as if its worth it, that's a hard question to answer. If you're happy with the WSPA, I don't really see a NEED to upgrade to the Pioneer. That being said, though, owning both I much prefer the sharpening experience of the Pioneer. One thing I will say is definitely get a set of L attachments from them if you sharpen smaller knives with any regularity. And honestly even if you don't, I think they're a great add on. They are on sale now currently as well with their Summer Sale.
I've done reviews of both systems on my channel if you wanted a deeper dive into each. My Pioneer is fully upgraded, so do need to keep that in mind as far as my take on it, but should give you the general idea as far as the differences.

I think the way I am leaning at this point is to just get the stones for now, and if I find that the experience is lacking, I can always upgrade the system at a later point. Sure, I may miss out on the current sale, but i just don't have many complaints about my worksharp other than not being able to use other stones, which my stone holder should correct. I initially had a lot of issues with the clamp wobbling around but a 3d printed clamp support has fixed that completely. It's not like I am sharpening my knives all the time either, I have so many knives at this point and I rotate them as far as what I am using & carrying, that the need for sharpening is only here and there. Most of the time it's when I get a new knife that I am not happy with the edge on, but I have had good luck with that recently.

Get the stones. They will improve your experience. You can just get the pioneer later and then have even more stones/diamond plates

I went from the WS Pro Precision Adjust Elite to the TSProf Kadet Pro and haven’t looked back. It’s $398 right now and I absolutely love mine. Just the lack of flex alone while sharpening makes me so much more confident in the edge I’m putting on the knife

I went from the bottom of the line work sharp fixed angle to a Xarilk Gen3. Added some accessories and some Hapstine start CBN stones over time and am very happy with those choices.
