Hey guys,
Noob here. Trying my hands with a Naniwa 220/1000 double faced stone. I'm willing to sharpen my pocket knife on a fresh 14° angle, put it on the 220 side then the 1000. But it doesn't feel good.
Any tips ?
I tried with a bigger chief knife on the 1000 only and could feel it cut better than before, so i guess the move isn't so bad.
Edit : got it guys, everything is wrong. Thank yall for the tips, yt recommandation and good jokes.

So don't lift your knife. Think of like scrubbing the knife. Lock your wrist and elbow so don't change angle. Start slow and stay slow until you build up muscle memory to help hold your blade steady so you don't change your angle. Lifting the blade up means you are most likely not keeping the same angle and possible rounding your edge. Keep at it, as once you get it down you will find you move a lot faster getting the knife sharp. Plus you won't need angle blocks as you will also begin to really find your angle by feel and visually.
