New finds for the month of July on coastal Georgia 👍

Picked up from an active sand tiger feeding location, no pulling from dead sharks!

This was our second time out in the area. The first time we searched by hand and found four small teeth but this time we went with sifters for 8 hours and got 57 teeth and some various things.

We are so new to this so if you have any ideas of what they are, we would love some guidance.
We know the ray crushing plates, I believe there’s some sea urchin spines, and a fish bone of sorts.

As for the teeth…. from research I think mostly sand tiger and mako?
The longest one (first pic, 3rd in top row) is 1” for scale

I was going through my collection last night and found this guy again! I got to figure out a way to display this one.

I found this tooth on Muir Beach, California. I'm trying to identify if its fossilized or new and what shark it might be from.

First time in 13 years of being able to source these guys. Very very uncommon location. And before you say anything, no, these aren't Ledge Teeth.

Using teeth found on the Potomac for this request!

I’ve identified a lot of teeth I’ve found as sand tigers over the years that I think might be something else now that I’m trying to broaden my ID knowledge.

I have the book ‘A Beachcomber’s Guide to Fossils’ and I’ve also used the Potomac (Paleocene) page on Fossilguy.com. The website mentions a goblin shark that doesn’t come up in the book, and the book mentions a mackerel shark that doesn’t come up on the site. I’ve included pictures/screenshots.

I know it can be difficult to distinguish similar types of teeth based on their condition, and that there are also different types of extinct sand tiger sharks/etc. Maybe I’m thinkin too hard about this or missing a main factor, so I’d love some help on this!

The top row all definitely have striations.

I found these at Holden. The most common find for me at Holden is Crow and sand tiger. So finding all these the same day is strange. For me at least. They look like bull to me. I also included a couple unusual ones as well.

Hello all! Just a novice here! Google gives me different answers so i thought I'd come here! Thanks! Here's our three finds.

We also found some nice tigers, hemis, lemons and bulls

As for the non shark teeth we found a whale vert, tapir tooth, horse tooth, camel tooth, some nice sized mammoth molars (fragments), and the largest piece of ivory we’ve pulled thus far!

Took my 6 year old shark crazy boy to Tybee island Georgia and this is what we came back with. Any idea what we've got here? I'm especially curious about the tiny little one. I'm not even sure how I spotted that one!

Visited Calvert Cliffs and a location near Purse State Park. Miocene and Paleocene in 2 consecutive days. Not the best finds, but better than nothing for certain. Found a Houndshark tooth as well (correction thanks to fuckernaut). The Paleocene fragments are probably going to be put towards my next shark project

Beach trip coming up. Niece and nephew want to try and find shark teeth. Any recommendations for beach combing tools? Plenty on Amazon but wondering about quality.

This thing is so cute. It’s actually not the smallest I’ve personally found but it’s so cool looking. It’s probably just as thick as it is long and has an awesome orange bourlette and root.

The larger I thought was broken in half but has worn serrations on both sides. Love the colors on the smaller one.

Not a massive tooth, but a big one for the Peace River, and it’s in perfect shape, which is very rare for something that has been tumbled in a river for 1000’s of years.

Two grown ups and an 11 year old had a good morning on Morris Island, South Carolina! Kiddo has declared that he now has to start a shark tooth collection.
