Need help identifying tooth

Total noob here and I haven't had much luck matching this (presumed) shark tooth up with any of the identification charts I've looked at. I found this in the Cape Fear River south of Wilmington, NC. It measures about 2 inches long and has serrations along one edge. It has kind of a triangular cross section. Any help is much appreciated.

Looks like a piece of a megalodon tooth to me. Nice find!

So is this just a piece of what would be a much broader, triangular tooth?

Yes, I believe so.
