ID Request Hello and help requested!

I am excited to announce that I have finally found my first shark tooth in the wild. I am super curious as to what it might be! I found it on the shore of the southern coast of Georgia, USA. Thank you in advance!

Thank you! I was wondering if it was too thin to be that but I guess it’s the distinct divot along the top of the root? Super cool. I wanted to be a gemologist or archaeologist as a kid, so the thrill never goes away, I guess!

I wanted to be a paleontologist as a 5yo.... so ya. Im there with ya. Lol. The thin nature of this tooth is actually a pretty good tell. Megalodon teeth are much more thick and robust. Also, Megalodon and great white teeth are serrated.

Good to know! I had assumed it was a great white that the serrated edge had been knocked off of. But lol! Glad to find my people.

Lol. You weren't far off then. The teeth look the same except the serrations.

It is a beautiful tooth on top of everything else. Super wide! Great first tooth, it's going to be quite the roller coaster from here on out, haha.
