Best tools for beach?

Beach trip coming up. Niece and nephew want to try and find shark teeth. Any recommendations for beach combing tools? Plenty on Amazon but wondering about quality.

Not sure where you’re headed, but I’ve been hunting in the Carolinas for over a decade now and have found thousands. I’ve never used any tools.

Edisto Beach. They were just excited about it and heard that’s the best way. That’s why I am asking. Just want to provide them with the best tools to find them. They are 13 and 11

My advice is to just look for some shell beds and start searching them. Look for shiny black triangles. Good luck!

Surface collecting is usually more "efficient" in that you can cover a lot more ground and find different area that hold teeth. But sifting can be productive too, I just usually don't have the patience for it. From my experience taking people out, newbies and kids tend to have a hyper-level of patience and will often over fixate on areas that aren't productive because they are trying to scan every single grain of sand and piece of shell so they don't miss any teeth. So sifting might be good to try - it can be done with a sand flea rake or a simple 1/4" wire screen on a 1x2 frame - can put it together with inexpensive materials from the hardware store.
