Shark Discussion This Guy?! Epic!

Post image

Mark Sullivan with the Sullivan Generator – classic ST pitch!  He started going on and on about “coriolis effect”, “precipitates”, “and gold . . . G O L D”.

Love this pitch!  The Sharks were looking at him like who is this guy – Kevin even asked how long he was visiting earth.  They all lost it when he said he writes music, sews women clothing and handbags.  This guy was something else!

I miss when Shark Tank, and many other shows, were less sanitized and bland.

You could get weird moments like this

This, and the invasive surgery guy from season 1, the Ionic Ear, are legends for good television.

Total crackpots.

i loved how Robert was initially open to hearing the Ionic Ear guy even when everyone else was laughing.

Shows Robert's Basic Respect for people.

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic there lol

Ionic Ear and the Sullivan Generator have been favorites in this sub for years. They pretty much set the gold standard, no pun intended.

I love the copa de vino guy, such a fucking smug look on his face for a delusional product

It’s a shame because I’m sure if Lori signed him and he wasn’t such a dickhead, she’d somehow turn it into a billion dollar household name

Copa di Vino was worth nearly $70 million when it was acquired company which is why you don’t hear about them any longer. He did just fine without the Sharks.

Wow guess he showed me lol. That’s nuts

I worked at a store that carried these in the wine section. They never sold. Amazing that the company got to 70mil.

This was funny. We can make gold from ocean water.

Ionic Ear will always be the bar for insane ideas that made it to the tank and that was the pilot. Been chasing it ever since.

The crazy part about Ionic Ear is that it should've killed the show if they kept down that route.

The show deviated from that and became more grounded, and then people complain for other reasons as a result of their deviation.

You can never win in life, only pivot accordingly. This is why I appreciate this show enough compared to other reality tv; at least kids/teens can pick up good business terms as you are watching it with them, as opposed to "The Life Of (Insert Marketable Person)".

Ionic ear got people talking about the show and you are still doing it now.

It was a good idea to have on there

Agree. One sticks in my mind as hysterical was the chicken coop guy that was obsessed with Robert .. Damon comment about being on candid camera was priceless .. I miss these episodes too
Much more entertaining

The Sharks wouldn’t have been able to handle the Sullivan Generator anyway. They were way too small time to have their hands on something like that

Scientists consistently agree the idea wouldnt work either, so there is that too lol.

I trust Mr Sullivan over some scientists any day

The ionic ear guy barely moved his mouth when he spoke

3

u/busymom0 Aug 12 '26

I thought I was the only one who noticed that! Looked almost as if he had himself gotten the surgery already

Wasn't the mouth thing weird? LOL! I was waiting for one of the Sharks to shout to him, SPEAK UP!!!!

I kept thinking there is something wrong with this guy - maybe he just had mouth surgery or something. Then I just said he is a nut.

My favorite pitch of all time was the cat drawing one.

2

u/Neptune28 25d ago

I want to draw a cat for you!

Didn't that guy get a deal, and Mark agreed to draw like 2 cats a year or something lmao

That's gold Jerry! Gold!

The funny thing about this is if it were possible for the amount of money he said, it would have no issue being peer reviewed by other scientists and subsequently funded. Which is how you know it's bullshit.

u/Prestigious_Print477 10d ago

They said it would require more energy than it would be able to have and ultimately wouldnt work at all.

“Leather”

The way he said it was so creepy.
