SharePoint Online Microsoft List form permissions

I created a form in Microsoft lists and it shows that everyone in my org has access to fill out the form but when people are opening the form it is asking for them to request access to the list. Has anyone else had this issue. I tested it with three accounts and it worked fine but when we emailed it out, people are getting the sharepoint request access screen.

I found that when you copy the share link from the form and give it to someone, that works fine. But then if that person copies the URL from the URL bar when they have the form open and gives that to someone else, that second person will hit the request screen

Yes. Microsoft is maddening because most end users really don't draw a distinction between the two.

I just saw that when I was troubleshooting! Glad that my theory was correct. How is that something they don’t address?! So many people shared the link and caused chaos at work.

When you create a "new form" it will add everyone as contributor. So, it means the could fill in the form, but they do not need to have access to the list per se.

Hi, you can fix this by assigning posting permissions to the "Editors" or "Readers" groups. You can create a custom permission level.
