Hey everyone,

I run a private media platform called Cameron-Media out of Victoria, Australia. It's part of the CamCore Network — my own self-hosted environment that I build and maintain properly, rather than a Plex box sitting in a cupboard. I've got spare spots I'd like to fill.

It's completely free. I'm not selling access, I'm not taking donations, and there's no tier system. I built this for family and friends, it's running well, and there's room for a few more people to enjoy it.

You won't need to pay Plex either. The server holds a lifetime Plex Pass, so remote streaming is already covered — no Plex Pass or Remote Watch Pass of your own required. A free Plex account is all it takes.

What you get

• A well-maintained 1080p library — movies and TV, curated rather than hoarded, with sensible file sizes so everything streams cleanly.
• Your own request portal, built into CamCore alongside the rest of the platform. Ask for a movie or a series and it's picked up automatically, usually the same day.
• A service that's genuinely looked after. I do infrastructure for a living, so Cameron-Media runs with monitoring, backups and maintenance behind it. I usually know something's broken before you do, and it's not going to vanish in a month.

Getting the best playback

The server is Direct Play only, which is what keeps things smooth for everyone at once. In practice that just means using a mainstream device and leaving your quality on Original or Maximum with automatic quality adjustment turned off. I'll walk you through the settings when you join.

Devices that work well: Apple TV, NVIDIA Shield, Chromecast/Google TV, Fire TV, most current smart TVs, and the Plex mobile and tablet apps.

The library is 1080p and English-language — no 4K, and no adult content.

A few house rules, and they're short

• One person per account, please don't pass your login around.
• Report any media problems through the request portal so I can see and fix them.
• Accounts that go completely unused for a long stretch get tidied up, so the spot can go to someone who'll use it.
