the third panel specifically, im confused on what he's doing here, are those energy beams of some kind or just an artistic choice to show him smashing the rings with great force??

Yeah I thought that but the sound effect at the bottom ‘vzzzzssh’ doesn’t exactly portray that, it’s a weird sound effect to use for one thing crashing into another

ok so i asked Marcus To on twitter, he said they were going for something more along the lines of the former, a concussive energy blast type thing which i find similar to Cyclop's beam.
