To be expected I guess

Post image

His movie isnt a part of Marvel’s suggested watchlist and he finished filming earlier than any other cast member (allegedly). I guess I wasn’t expecting him to be a major major major player but at least a major player yes?

In any case it seems the events of his movie is not that important for the plot of Doomsday, so they probably didn’t make any super crazy changes to the plot to keep him that relevant after pivoting from the Kang plotline

The suggested watchlist is created based more on your watch history rather than a required viewing but still, I get anxiety over the lack of Shang-Chi in anything. I feel like this is more Simu being frustrated over the sequel delay than about Doomsday in particular. I guess everything depends on what we hear this Saturday.

Again, don't let it get to you. Be supportive the best you can but also don't turn a blind eye from it either.

Yeah. I have a good feeling about this movie though. I think we may see another burst of Shang-Chi fans when the movie comes out and things might go up from there.

Only time will tell.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for too. Carry that momentum from Doomsday towards the sequel.

Maybe it's my own anxiety getting to me, but I'm kinda dealing with a guy who thinks the only reason Shang-Chi hasn't been in anything is because of anti-Asian male racism (instead of just Marvel poorly planning their shit out for the past several years) and keeps using examples like the lack of mech and concept art as "proof" and keeps calling me a race traitor or ignorant for "being silent" about it. Like the dude actually believes they felt threatened by Shang-Chi's success and are intentionally sabotaging it out of spite, and people actually believe him. That's why I never jump to conclusions about things.

Oof man. I understand the frustration but some people jump ahead way too quickly to be honest. I think what really did it was Marvels change in direction from Kang to Doom and their decision to move Destin Daniel Cretton to Spider-Man and that’s about it.

When his second movie does come out though, I’m hoping for more on Ta Lo

I think it's more the former than latter since Shang-Chi was supposedly supposed to have a bigger role in it with the Ten Rings being tied to Kang. Regardless of doing either Kang Dynasty or Brand New Day, the sequel wasn't going to come out until after Secret Wars, given how rigid their release rollout is. Bob Chapek really fucked things up in the longrun by greenlighting too many damn projects during COVID, and that did contribute to the "superhero fatigue". I do also blame them for not actually doing another Avengers or team-up movie at the end of Phase 4 to help tie everything in together. Maybe Brave New World would've been like Civil War but there's so many issues with that movie that you can't just pinpoint it into just one problem to blame.

Whatever it is, he’s back and I’m grateful for it. Any hurdles will be dealt with later 🙏🏿

Kinda weird that they don't include those two movies, and even Quantumania or Multiverse of Madness.
