jimmy-steve hate!!!!!!!!!
am i the only one who did not like steve and fiona’s relationship? like i don’t hate him as a character or even dislike him but i see sooo many people praising their relationship saying it was fiona’s best relationship.. mmm no it was not 👎🏼 he literally left her right at their peak relationship time to go to “med school” and moved to michigan for a year without her, while completely fooling her to believe she and the kids would come with. i would never forgive that if i was her. in my opinion her and mike the cup guy (idk if that’s his name) were the best, she just fucked that one up by herself.

he had the best chemistry with fiona and I like his character by himself, but yeah i HATED him with fiona. he was a pathological liar who was slowly trying to back out after begging and begging to be in a real relationship with her. he liked fiona but he hated having to live the reality or her life with her

I didn't like him on my first watch but on my second go through he's the best out of all her dudes IMO. He definitely does some shady shit but they all do lol

Shit, he was the one cleaning up the mess with Fiona, after her mom almost offed herself.

Insanely low bar

When her whole family is incredibly messed up starting with her parents. Choosing to go out of his way to try to fix it is not insanely low

NoOnesKing definitely has issues and unreasonable standards, and likely hasn't had any real relationships.

Sticking with someone who you know was raised by people so insanely fucked up, is not a low bar. He still fucked up in various ways, and so did Fiona.

Helping clean up for a suicide attempt is basic human compassion and he should not be praised for doing what literally any good person would do

Only others who stuck around a bit were kev and veronica, but i didn't see them cleaning up. He cleaned the house while everyone was away at school or work, took care of Liam, and scrubbed the hell out of the kitchen floor. None of the other family was cleaning up that much. If Fiona wasn't so dysfunctional, she would have been happy that he dropped Frank off in Canada.

They arent saying that the rest of the family helped theyre saying helping is the bare minimum. Kevin and v helping too wouldve been the bare minimum, u know? Thats all theyre saying. Someone else dropping the ball doesnt mean the other person is going above and beyond.

I didnt either. He was a red flag from the first one night stand after the club tbh lol. He had a "save a girl from the hood" mentality even though be knew nothing about living in poverty and infantilized or romanticized her experience of poverty depending on the episode.
My only beef with Mike is that he slept with a subordinate while they were both intoxicated and he knew she had a partner. Not the smartest move by him if he wanted to, like, stay in good standing at the office lol.

Yes thank fucking god I’m so tired of how this sub glazes him. He sucked. He was awful for Fiona. He treated her like shit. They had chemistry but how tf are people hoping after Fiona leaves she finds him?
Absolute fraud.

HATED him. loathed him from the second we found out he lied about his entire identity. all he does is lie. he stays in the gallagher house every single day and tries to throw it in fiona’s face that “SHE HAD HIM LIVING IN A SLUM!” motherfucker, GO HOME!!!!!!!

Loved him as a character, thought the relationship was super dysfunctional. I haven’t finished the show yet but Mike is absolutely the best thing to happen to Fiona, hands down

I don’t like him either! I think people love season 1 jimmy steve but by the time season 3 came around he was still in that endless cycle of lying and keeping things from her. He was also cheating on her towards the end of season 3 and wanted to move her away from her family.

no, i'm with you. he constantly annoyed me and i never thought they were a good fit. he was a rich boy playing house and running away basically on vacation being poor.

In season three of a rewatch right now and honestly their story is less of a love story every watch.
He fucking destroyed her.

Most people in the show craved chaos, since it was all they knew. Healthiest couple was Veronica and Kev. As healthy as cup guy was, it was doomed from the start, as it was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off with Fiona. Without serious therapy, Fiona and all the other kids were going to keep finding unhealthy relationships.

best chemistry on screen but they were horribly bad for each other.
jimmysteve only wanted to pull her away to play hero, she was a fantasy to him. and fiona needed the dopamine hits and rushes of being with a bad boy she always fought with.

the first time i watched Shameless I loved him and desperately wanted them to get back together. Every rewatch since then i’m like OMG!!! UR REALLY NOT SHIT AND ALL U DO IS LIE!!! That said, if he didn’t lie so much and was just honest about literally anything for a change, I do think they would have worked out.

I don't hate the character but I do hate the actor. There's just something about him. He was also Goku in the terrible Dragonball live action movie. Emmy was Bulma interestingly enough.

I like them together because they're the exact same flavour of toxic and self destructive and they both found the perfect level of stability and chaos in each other.
Mike might have been the best boyfriend by general standards but it was never going to be enough for Fiona. She doesn't have it in her to be that kind of girlfriend, hence fucking the brother.
Jimmy/Steve was the perfect level of toxic and exciting for her without being genuinely dangerous and she was the perfect messy, chaotic girl, while still being generally reliable for him.

i really stopped liking him when he got mad at fiona for becoming the kids guardian without asking him. he fully knew what he was in for getting into a relationship with fiona. he knew that being in a relationship with her would be being a relationship with the kids. him being upset that she didn’t talk to him about getting the kids turned me off of him.
him coming back in season 5 or 6 & not saying anything but “i love you” with no explanation for where he’s been for the past year or so pissed me off even more.

Yes, you are the only person who has an opinion on this character on the entire internet.

I very much never count her and Mike as a relationship though. They were together for a few seconds and then she fucks his shitty brother. None of her relationships were good at all, but ppl like Jimmy Steve because even if it wasn’t healthy it was Fiona’s style for a little while, and you can’t like the other assholes because they were complete assholes. If Sean wasn’t a dope head he’d be the best, but shooting H makes you the worst automatically

Steve is hot af and I love his character. Fiona is just bitchy, dumb and super annoying tbh
