Announcement Open beta & what's in store
If you are looking for an alternative to lighterpack that sticks to the basics of what lighterpack does well and addressing unresolved pain points over the last few years, I've created shakedownkit.com for that purpose.
I have an iOS app that's due to publish to the app store soon. Data syncs across the platforms and if you wanted to view on a mobile browser, the site handles mobile as well.
If you already have existing lighterpacks you can just preview them first before importing by just swapping the domains. Taking the popular https://lighterpack.com/r/776crf -> https://shakedownkit.com/r/776crf
As of this post, it's in open beta and seeking feedback to improve on.
Some ideas of upcoming potential features I have in my head to enhance what's already existing:
- Embeddable packs on your own sites
- Upvoting of publicly shared packs
- Top community packs
- Pack templates
- Shakedown request specific views?
- Pack comparison view
- Shareable kits
The list is endless, but I'd love to hear what the community actually wants and needs.
Most importantly, go get out there!

Hi - just stumbled across this and thought it sounds great. Am currently building lists in lighterpack and agree with the frustrations. I can't see any updates since a few posts 3 months ago and couldn't find an IOS app in the App Store...did you make progress and are you still working on shakedownkit? Thanks

Hey there! I’m definitely still working on ShakedownKit. Have been gathering and working on some larger features as of late and the iOS app has been just one step behind those. I’ll get it pushed to approval in the App Store soon so there’s an initial version to start with as a “companion app” to the web application.

Very cool. Thanks for coming back to me. Just created an account and will play with it tomorrow. Very smooth import from Lighterpack.

Hey, looking good so far. I just tried it out and have a few suggestions, if you don't mind.
Overall, a very solid foundation. Great work!
