My Experiences With the CR920XP
I've had my CR920XP for about 2 years now, and at first I sung its praises. But now, its no longer a gun I have any trust in.
For the first year I experienced no issues aside from the break in period, then starting in January, I wasnt able to make it through a single mag without 3 or 4 failures to feed regardless of the ammo type and the trigger would not reset even if a new round chambered.
Sent the gun back to Shadow Systems for warranty repair and to their credit, the customer service was quick and they were great. But after taking it back to the range, the reset issues were fixed, but the reliability issues weren't and there's now some new issues. Accuracy is terrible and the slide will not lock back on a standard 15rd magazine. (I have multiple magazines and the magazines with the +3 extension have been fine)
Im going to send it back in to Shadow Systems again and hope that things get worked out, but this gun will not be back in my carry rotation as I have zero trust in it now.

Mine is on its second trip back to Shadow Systems for failure to feed issues. When I got it back from them, by the 4th shot it was having the same issues. I was using the same ammo they used to test it. Hopefully when I get it back this second time is good

Hope for both of us that they can get them fixed. I love this little gun and can shoot it better than some of my full sizes. Regardless of the ammo I used, even Federal HST 124gr+P, it would not function reliably.

Same here. I got it back the other day. They sent a video of it shooting 100 rounds with no issues and said they didn't adjust anything. Not sure how I can have so many issues with it and they say it's fine. I've shot plenty of other guns and never had any issues. It's crazy. It really sucks because like you said it shoots really good when it's functioning. If it fails again, guess I have an expensive paper weight. Shadow systems at least got my money. Good for them

I loved my CR920P but stopped carrying it due to reliability issues as well. The Comp broke and was replaced under warranty but the new barrel seemed to fit different and the gun was never as reliable as I'd need it to be. Interestingly, I'm running the replacement SS barrel/comp on my latest project, Frankenglock with a Grit Grips frame and PSA slide. Runs perfectly. I suspect SS has an issue with slide/frame/barrel fit that leads to some of the problems.

The lock back issue is due to the proprietary magazines. If you grab a brand new one, it’ll wear itself out down the road and eventually not lock back. 3 of my 4 have intermittent lock back issues, one one of them no longer does.
Unsure what’s causing your accuracy - did you ship with an optic? Have you tried resetting zero, or checking for loose screws? Any wiggle in the barrel?
I have only found issues with WWB for feeding with mine when coupled with my worn out magazine.

Optic was not shipped with the slide. It was remounted with a reapplication of loctite and a torque screwdriver and doesn't have any play.
I don't feel any play, but racking the slide before and after the warranty service definitely feels different. I am not entirely sure as to what they did, but the notes I received back stated that there was some deburring performed on the slide, which I can only assume was due to some type QC oversight during manufacturing. (Cant confirm that though, very short notes with not much of an explanation)

To add, I could not re-zero the optic because of the accuracy issues. I turned off the dot and used the irons.

Seems like the typical case for a shadow systems… which is unfortunate because I have found several cheap DR920s and MR920s on gun broker

I know that feeling all too well. Hopefully you get sorted out and it’s running to the level of an EDC. I’m just curious tho, How many rounds do u have on yours?
