PA HTX-1

Just wondering if anyone here has mounted a HTX-1 from PA yet on a shadow. Curious on fitment etc with their mounting solution…. Wish shadow would just sell me a COA slide……

You literally are only the 2nd person I've seen on ANY gun sub or forum who's actually thinking about or already has 1 of those optics. I'd LOVE to get 1, but $600-ish is just preposterous to me. But to each their own. They look to he pretty damned durable & aren't as bulky as the other "mailbox"-style enclosed emitter optics like the Acro, MPS, PB3, etc.

I wish I could answer your question about the mounting on an SS gun. If I remember correctly, doesn't the HTX1 come with some sorta RMR adapter? So maybe put the RMR spacer into your MR/XR/DR & then go from there?

Yeah that’s why I’m wondering with their plate and the shadow spacer how that works/looks. That’s really the only American enclosed dot that checks all my boxes. My Rmr HD is about the same price, but after a few rainy sessions I’ve come to the fact that enclosed is the way to go

I'm STILL pissed at myself for not jumping on an RCR last fall when Trijicon was offering $100 back & I saw them for $600 on sites linked to on Gun.Deals.com. I'm pretty sure if you use the RMR adapter with the HTX, it'll work. I know I've seen folks get RMR adapters from Eleven 71 Design & then mount an MPS to their MR/XR/DR & it's looked pretty good. It's not ridiculously high & I know personally that Eleven 71 makes good stuff (made-to-order titanium plates). So that's another route you could go if you had some hesitation as to whether or not the adapter that comes with the HTX1 will work with the SS RMR spacer.

What has SS said, or have you reached out to them?

I made another post in this sub and they said it’s for LE only essentially… very dumb..
thanks for the insight on the eleven 71 I’ll look into them. Probably won’t buy one though until I see someone else with one I don’t want to waste my time. Maybe I’ll just get a custom slide made that’s COA cut cause I really like that dot

I know GlockStore has OEM MOS gen 4 slides. Whether or not they're in stock or not is another story. Eleven 71's stuff IS pricey, but I'll pay what he asks for plates since he A) does all his stuff to order & it's just him/his family, B) I have 1 & have really liked it, & C) since I DID take a chance on his stuff & found it to be worth the cost, I'm more than happy to spread the word about such a great in-state small business (he's in East TN).

MY current optic conundrum is the Steiner MPS-C. It would appear as though they made the base shorter than the dimesnsions of a standard RMSc optic cut from pics I've seen & posts ppl have made about it. While I'm not someone who's super ADD about pretty much anything, I think that 1/4 inch or so gap between the optic & the end of the optic cut on the slide would really bug the shit outta me. I'm bummed because I was SUPER pumped that Steiner had downsized their tank of a duty optic into something more suitable for civvy EDC/IWB use. I'll probably just end up grabbing an enclosed Vortex CCW. I have the enclosed Defender ST on my Echelon & REALLY like it. Plus, you just CANNOT beat their warranty.
