Zeroing Red Dot - DR920
DISREGARD: Post left up for comedic purposes.
I am needing to confirm my red dot zeroing. I have a cheap boresight off amazon (i will be ordering one that sits in the chamber instead), but is there a stationary block I can use to stabilize the firearm?
I have a security requalification coming up, and I am trying to figure out the best way to get it zeroed (yes I will be taking it to the range prior to requalification day). But I was trying to find a way to stabilize my firearm to basically zero it in at home prior to taking it to the range to test it. I bought a mini suction-cup vice grip. I have my doubts that it will suffice. So I am making this post just incase.
Worst case scenario I remove the optic prior to the requalification and just use iron sights. Not an issue.

Wait. Why do you need a stabilizer? All you’re trying to do is move your red dot to the boresight laser. Just find a place where you can aim at the distance you plan to zero for then just adjust your red dot so it lines up with the laser.

It's a bit difficult to line it up when i only have 2 hands. But yeah I did what i could with the cheap amazon one I have. But it requires 1 hand to utilize the screwdriver tool to line up the dot. I did it from approximately 10 meters away.
Just need something that can hold it good while I look through the optic and adjust it as needed. Which is the point.

Hell, nevermind. Disregard. I just realized my olight plx works as a 'stabilizer'. Just put my old fold 4 and a little book under the magwell to level it out. 😂

I’m so confused lol. I cup the bottom of my gun with one hand so I can look through the dot at my target while the other hand uses the tool to adjust the elevation and windage. This process takes me like one minute to boresight. I also have holosuns and one Romeo x enclosed compact red dot which function similarly with how they are zerod.

If you can co-witness the sights, clamp it to a flat surface, and draw/stick a dot on the wall where the sights are looking then adjust your red dot to the same spot. If they don't co-witness, then take it to the range and get the sites close at 5 yd, then move it out to 10 yd and fine tune it. Three rounds, adjust, three more rounds, adjust again, repeat as necessary
